What we expect from you
Respect the owner's rules for the pet. Their instructions come first — always.
- Honesty at all times. If you are not comfortable with a pet or situation, you can tell us — we would rather know
- Regular updates in the WeChat group: photos, videos, a message when you arrive and when you leave
- Always communicate in the group so HappyNest can follow up and support you in case of any misunderstanding
And of course — the basics for the pets
- Clean the litter box or any accidents promptly
- Walk the dog on the leash at all times; be careful approaching other dogs
- Clean and refill water and food bowls as instructed
- Play, cuddle, enjoy — this is the best part
What we will never ask you
You are not a housekeeper. You can help with small things if asked and you feel comfortable, but if an owner request feels unreasonable, let us know.
We will never ask you to take on a booking you are not comfortable with.
How to get ready to take care of a pet
Boarding & House Sitting
- Make sure your home is safe for the pet — windows closed, balcony secured, nothing they can escape through
- Remove anything you care about that the pet might break or chew
- Set your own rules for your space: where the pet is allowed, any off-limit areas — especially important in a shared apartment
- For House Sitting, bring what you need to make yourself comfortable for the duration
Drop-in Visit & Dog Walking
- Confirm during the meet and greet where everything is: food, leash, litter, cleaning supplies
- Make sure you have all access you need before the booking begins — keys, building card, gate codes
If something is unclear before or during a booking, ask in the WeChat group first. A quick message prevents 99% of problems. We are always here to help — never hesitate to reach out to HappyNest directly.
